On
November 26, 1980 Brian arrived at BBC1 Studios
in London, England along with Stray Cats bandmates
Slim Jim Phantom and Lee Rocker. The purpose of the
trio's visit was to tape their first television appearance
on the top UK music chart program, Top Of The Pops.
What
you see above is the cardboard name plate which
was placed on the band's dressing room door. The date
penned in above the typed name was written by Stray Cats'
publicist Bobby Startup after the band left the studio and
arrived back at their flat.
The
song the guys performed was their first single,
"Runaway Boys" which had been released earlier in the month
and peaked on the British charts in the #9 position.
Stray
Cats rocked Top Of The Pops again on
February 5, 1981 when they brought a mimed version
of their second single, "Rock This Town" into the homes
of an appreciative English audience who eventually took the
sophmore track to the same chart slot occupied by it's predecessor.

Check
back in the next few days when we display
another unusual blast from Brian's past!
