South Korean Stray Cats LP from 1983

Featured in this segment of "Inside the Setzer
Memorabilia Vault" is perhaps the most unusual
packaging of Stray Cats songs that we've ever
seen
. Released in late 1983, this LP was available
in South Korea on the "Seoul Records" label, licensed
through Arista, the Cats' U.K.-based record company.

What makes this disc so unusual is its packaging.
"Seoul Records Inc." used what was basically the
front cover of "Rant and Rave with the Stray Cats", which
had been previously released throughout the rest of the
world, and the back cover of the band's self-titled
debut LP. (There are slight differences between those
sleeves, but they are essentially the same except for
text and the placement of the band's name.) Also
titled "Stray Cats", this LP contains a mix of songs
pulled from all 3 of the Stray Cats LPs. The inner
sleeve includes a biography, 2 photos and the
Asian-styled lyrics that we've all come to love.
Here's a sample, from the classic "Rev It Up and Go":

"I've got a 39 Ford
But it's only been jerked one time
I've got a 39 Ford
But it's only been jerked one time
Well this 39 Ford my all you and I"

If you see this LP at the local record-hop,
snap it up, it's a rare one!
